Health Literacy Project All Year CBHA participates in the Health Literacy Project in collaboration with UCLA/Johnson&Johnson Health Care Institute. The project uses free classes and a book titled "What to Do When Your Child Gets Sick" to teach parents how to care for their children when they are sick. |

Pilgrim Lutheran Church Quilting All Year CBHA teams with the Pilgrim Lutheran Church to provide quilt to needy families around the Columbia Basin. Ladies with the Pilgrim Lutheran Quilting Group get together every week to work on the quilts. Maternity Support Services staff at CBHA work to make sure the quilts make it to the families that need them. |

Wear Red Day February On 'Wear Red Day' in February, CBHA employees wear red to raise awareness of the number one killer in women, heart disease.

Heart Health Risk Assessments February Another event to raise awareness of heart disease, the heart health risk assessments are done on Wear Red Day. The assessments are open to all employees and patients at no charge.

National Alcohol Screening Day April CBHA's Behavioral Health Counselors perform alcohol screenings at all of our clinics. If the screening indicates an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, the patient or employee is given more resources and referred to another counselor if necessary.

Bicycle and Car Seat Awareness Day June or July Every year CBHA and Othello Police Department host the Bicycle and Car Seat Awareness Day. Children complete a bicycle obstacle course and receive free helmets. Parents can have their car seat checked by a certified car seat technician, if the car seat does not meet current regulations they are given a new car seat.

Relay for Life July Every year CBHA participates in the Heart of the Basin Relay for Life to raise money for people coping with cancer. |

World Breastfeeding Week August CBHA's Maternity Support Services department hosts an informational booth at each site to answer questions, distribute information, and help new moms with regards to breastfeeding. |

National Health Center Week August During this week, community health centers everywhere are recognized as "health care homes" for 18 million people in America. CBHA is one of more than 1,200 community health centers that provide access and quality care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.

Fiesta Amistad August Othello's annual Fiesta Amistad Festival is held each year during the second weekend in August. The weekend celebration is aimed at bridging the gap between the carious cultures within the community. CBHA sets up a booth every year to encourage good health and give away items such as tooth brushes, pedometers, hand sanitizer, etc. |

Adams County Fair September Every year CBHA hosts a booth at the Adams County Fair complete with activities for kids, giveaways, and personnel available to answer healthcare questions.

Community Flu Clinic October CBHA, Othello Community Hospital, Adams County Health Department and various other community entities join together to put on the Community Flu Clinic. On average, 700-800 community members are immunized against the flu every year.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day October Employees of CBHA wear pink to remind us all that we have not won the fight against breast cancer and encourage everyone to help in any way they can.

Thanksgiving Food Drive November CBHA takes part every year in the annual Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive. Teams are formed within the clinic to compete and get as much food as possible donated. Then CBHA's Maternity Support Services department puts all of the food items together into baskets and delivers to needy families in our area. Giving Tree December Every Christmas at every CBHA site, the Giving Tree is displayed. The tree holds names and ages of several area children that are in need of Christmas gifts. CBHA employees take the names and attach them to a gift they buy and put it under the tree. |
