Welcome Dental Resident!
We are excited to welcome a new dental resident to CBHA! She will be working in our Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program for one full year, so you might see her at your next appointment!
You may be wondering what exactly a Dental Resident can do. Here are some of the procedures they can do while under the supervision of our dental providers:

Diagnose and provide appropriate dental treatment to patients during coomprehensive
and emergency exams like:
- X-rays
- Dental cleanings like scaling and root planning
- Fillings
- Root canals
- Extractions
- Bone grafting
- Crown Lengthening
- Crowns
- Fabricate temporary dentures/flippers
- Alveoloplasties
- Gingivectomies
- Bridges
- Partial and complete dentures
- Conscious sedation
- Educate patients, and parents of the patients, on maintaining proper oral health.
- Communicate with dental staff on our team regarding patient treatment plans.
Let’s get to know our residents a little more:
Dr. Kotschai Hemat
Dr. Kotschai Hemat is completing her second residency year in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and joined CBHA in July 2021.
After graduating from the dental school Philipps University Marburg in Germany she worked as a dentist in Europe and decided then to continue her dental career in the US. Dr. Hemat completed her first residency year in Tukwila, Washington.
She identifies with CBHA’s mission statement to provide equal access to quality health care to all individuals independent of their circumstances.
Outside of work she enjoys the outdoors, likes to travel and explore different hiking trails. Dr. Hemat also speaks 7 languages; German, English, Pashto, Farsi, Arabic, Turkish and Dutch.
