Get to know more about Maria:
When did you start at CBHA?
I began working for CBHA in May of 2016.
What is your title and job duties?
I am a Patient Services Representative in the Contact Center. I am the first point of contact for our patients. Some of my responsibilities are helping patients, whether it’s over the phone or in person. I help them schedule their appointments, leave messages or direct them to a certain department.
What do you like best about working for CBHA?
I really like the communication we have within our department. I love
that everyone around me is always so accountable and very willing to help.
How has CBHA helped you in your career development?
I’ve been given the opportunity to help the medical team and learn new things as I go. Whenever I can, I help with immunization administration or charting. I’ve learned and grown a lot in my skills as Patient Services Representative.
What has been your favorite project at work so far?
I handle the in-house referrals and figuring out how to track that wasn’t easy, but with the help from Christina Torro and Jude Alsarraj, I’ve been able to get a handle on things.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work?
My family motivates me every day, they definitely keep me on my toes.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise us.
I’ve managed to keep 6 plants alive and growing since this past summer.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
If I was doing something else it’d have to be social work.
Favorite travel spot?
If I have to pick I’d have to say California, I just love the weather.
When you have 30 minutes of free-time outside of work, how do you pass the time?
Any free time I get, I like to spend it with my family and my boyfriend. Especially when it involves a BBQ.
Anyone you would like to thank or final words?
Definitely the contact center team for making our work environment so smooth and friendly.
