When did you start at CBHA?
I started in April of 2017 in the marketing department.
What is your job title and day-to-day responsibilities?
I am a Visual Communications Specialist. That means I’m part of the CBHA marketing team. Anything you see that is designed for CBHA is done by me like, social media graphics, flyers, posters, brochures, billboards, and digital screens.
What is your favorite thing about working at CBHA?
My favorite thing about working at CBHA is the people. Both the team I work with and the patients we serve. We truly have so much fun, and I’ve learned so much about our patients and their needs. I love that our work helps connect people with the services that can make their lives better!
How has CBHA helped you grow in your career?
CBHA has helped me grow as a designer by giving me lots of creative projects to work on and a great team to collaborate with. I’ve been able to improve my design skills, learn new things, and gain more experience in photography and branding along the way.
What has been your favorite project at work so far?
My favorite project to work on is our school calendars! One year, I got to feature my two nieces and nephew in the photos, and they had a blast. They loved coming to CBHA, seeing what I do for work, and getting to be part of fun photos for eye care, medical, and other CBHA services. It was such a special experience for all of us!
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
If I could have any superpower, it would definitely be the ability to fly. I love to travel, and being able to fly would save so much time and money.
How do you turn a bad day into a good one?
If I'm having a rough day, I don’t let it get too bad. My go-to fix is simple: a nap and a Sprite. Somehow, that combo works like magic and makes everything feel a lot better!
What did you dream of becoming when you were a kid?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a radio announcer so bad because it meant I’d get to talk all day. But when I was at BYU-Idaho, I got the chance to do the announcing for a student football game and quickly realized broadcasting wasn’t for me. That led me to switch to advertising, and eventually, I became a graphic designer, which turned out to be the perfect fit!
Where is your favorite place to travel?
My favorite place to travel is definitely the beach, especially Hawaii! I love everything about it, from the ocean to the food, and you can’t beat a good pineapple Dole Whip. My goal is to visit all 50 states one day, and I’m down to just seven left on my list!
If you could be any Disney Character which one would you be?
If I could be any Disney character, I wish I could say something cool like Hercules or Moana, but honestly… it would be Sleeping Beauty because I love a good nap!
Anyone you would like to thank or final words?
Of course, I have to thank our amazing Marketing team, Blake Barthelmess, Magali Valdez, Ivone Valdez, and Devyn Lynch. They are the best to work with, and I’ve learned so much from each of them. They make me a better designer, and we always have so much fun together
