I’ve always been interested in mental health. Working as a health educator for 2 years at CBHA, I was able to put my foot in the door of mental health, but I wanted to provide more care for my patients.

After pursuing my master's in Social Work, I became very passionate about destigmatizing mental health in the Hispanic community, especially with students. There’s a lot of shame that can come with mental health, and it’s not fully understood.

There are a lot of barriers that students face in school, and I’m here to help them face those challenges head-on. There's great resiliency in students, and I’m looking forward to working with them.

Siempre me ha interesado la salud mental. Trabajando como educador de salud durante 2 años en CBHA, pude poner mi pie en la puerta de la salud mental, pero quería brindar más atención a mis pacientes.

Después de obtener mi maestría en Trabajo Social, me apasionó mucho desestigmatizar la salud mental en la comunidad hispana, especialmente entre los estudiantes. Hay mucha vergüenza que puede conllevar la salud mental y no se comprende completamente.

Hay muchas barreras que los estudiantes enfrentan en la escuela y estoy aquí para ayudarlos a enfrentar esos desafíos de frente. Hay una gran resiliencia en los estudiantes y tengo muchas ganas de trabajar con ellos.
